For almost a thousand years pilgrims from all over the world have crossed the Cisa Pass on the Via Francigena on their route to Roma. The way was rough, rich in perils and thieves made it even more dangerous, but along the way, pilgrims and travellers could find a safe place in the Abbeys, in the Monasteries and the Hostels built on route.
The most humble families welcomed the pilgrims in their homes in excange for tales of adventures and lands far away. Come and walk with us along one of the most evocative and least known part of the Via Francigena, from Pontremoli to Aulla. On route we’ll stop by the Castles that dominated the valleys and share our stories at the table of some of the most typical inns in Lunigiana. Be a Pilgrim!
